CHJ Group of Companies was founded by Mr. Matome Remember Mametja. With over twenty years’ experience in the mining industry, Mr. Mametjais passionate about the effective management of Mines,while guiding and leading contractors. With a business mind and a passion for entrepreneurship, Mr. Mametja discovered a gap in the market for an organisation to provide the engineering industry with ethical solutions that are inline with requirements of MHSA,as amended and its regulations,while competing on a cost basis, yet ensuring the highest of quality.

Mr. Mametja holds a GCC (mines and works) from DMRE, a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Vaal University of Technology, and a Certificate in Production/Operations Management from the University of South Africa.

Between 2014 and 2016, Mr. Mametja was employed by Uitkomst Colliery in South Africa as 2.13.1 Engineering Manager. Prior to 2014, Mr. Mametja was employed by Minopex Mozambique and Minopex South Africa from 2001 to 2014, where he held the positions of Process Shift Supervisor, Plant Engineer and New Projects/Commissioning Engineer to mention few.

Between 2017 to current, Mr Mametja, consulting under CHJ GROUP on Service Level Agreement (SLA) Contracts in order to Optimize Mining Projects, consulted as Operations and Maintenance Engineer for HCI Coal (Mbali and Palesa Coal); 2.13.1. Engineering Manager for Ikwezi Mining; Wash Plant Manager(Mbuyelo Coal-Ntshovelo Mining); 2.13.1. Engineering Manager for Benk Colliery; Wash Plants Optimization Specialist (Xakwa Mining and Benk colliery), to mention few where CHJ Group turned Operations around.

Mr Mametja is also accredited by DMRE as a Mentor for Interns and Junior Engineers.
